About the Role

As the Founding Engineer, you'll take technical ownership of the core platform that orchestrates the entire patient journey, from intake and surgery through recovery and daily clinic operations.

This is a true greenfield opportunity where you'll work directly with the founders and CPTO to define the architecture, build production systems from scratch, and help establish the engineering culture of the company. You'll combine software engineering with hands-on collaboration alongside clinical and operational teams to build technology that works reliably in real healthcare environments.

What You'll Do

• Architect and build the company's core platform from the ground up
• Design reliable, scalable production systems supporting clinic operations
• Own technical decisions across architecture, infrastructure, and product development
• Translate complex clinical and operational workflows into intuitive software solutions
• Collaborate closely with founders, clinicians, and operational teams to shape product direction
• Build software that integrates patient journeys, clinic infrastructure, and operational data
• Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Help establish engineering standards, best practices, and technical culture as the company grows

What We're Looking For

• Professional proficiency in German and English
• Proven experience building and operating production software used at meaningful scale
• Strong full-stack engineering skills with excellent architectural judgment
• Experience designing complex, distributed systems from concept to production
• Ability to translate real-world operational challenges into scalable software
• Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders to define product requirements
• Ability to work on-site in Berlin
• High ownership mindset with a strong bias toward execution and rapid iteration

Nice to Have

• Experience as an early engineer or founding team member at a startup
• Experience building AI/ML-powered products or features
• Background in healthcare, HealthTech, logistics, IoT, or other operationally complex industries
• Experience working with regulated environments or sensitive data
• Production experience with TypeScript and Python
